July 2008
Back from an intense month long tour of England and Scotland with the Groanbox Boys, and two weeks in
France doing a play with my brother and my cousin Fabrice
Macaux, I'm resting up a bit before heading back to the UK in August.
Groanbox will be releasing a new rootsy, world-infused album full of frenetic
grooves and chilled out backbeats sometime in the next two months. It
features all the usual (guitar, banjo, accordion, harmonica) plus West
African calabash (gourd), yew tree log, and other crazy percussive stylings
by Paul Clifford.
I received a scholarship to attend the Augusta Heritage Center for Guitar
Week, so that's where I'll be next week, and other than that the Seznec Brothers will be reuniting for a
show at Andy's in Chestertown on
July 19th, and I'll likely be doing a solo show up in Red Hook, Brooklyn at
the Jalopy on August 1st.
Other than that, for the next month or so I'll be tearing around in the woods
here on the farm in Annapolis,
MD.
Listen to songs and find out where I'm playing next on my myspace page.
April 2008
I'm currently working on a project with Parrish Ellis of The Wiyos focusing on the arrangement of Virginia/Tidewater field recordings for fingerstyle guitar.
In May I will be on tour in the UK with The Groanbox Boys. The GBB's latest cd, "Fences Come Down" is now released and available on CDBaby and iTunes.
In June 08, my brother Yann and I will be composing and performing music and doing the sound for a new play by Fabrice Macaux, to be held on a 13th century monastery in the Val d'Oise, France. Listen to some samples of previous years' theater music here.
I am occasionally involved with lessons at The Jalopy Theatre and also give private lessons.
